Ed Alexander is a business lawyer focusing on multi-owner business and professional practice transactional matters, including:
- Creating lasting and profitable LLC and corporate partnership arrangements, including initial formation and partner add-on transactions.
- Addressing and resolving partner disputes.
- Transitioning business ownership through asset and equity sales and purchases.

Ed is admitted to practice in Florida (1993) and New York (1994) and has been a business attorney since becoming a lawyer. He is the author of 10 Common and Costly Business Killing Legal Mistakes and How to Avoid Them. A Business Law Bible for Entrepreneurs.
In 1995, Ed was awarded U.S. Patent, No. 5,468,952, for the 1992 invention of a combined miniature laser scanner and portable handheld computer. This invention is still in use today in gift registry applications for retailers where customers use the device to register desired gifts.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Ed held positions in the tech world with a pacemaker manufacturer, custom integrated circuit manufacturer and laser bar code manufacturer, including as a systems engineer and product marketing manager. He has been part of teams that designed software and hardware for the first generation of defibrillator pacemakers, as well as custom analog and digital integrated circuits used in automobiles and healthcare applications.
In 2015, Ed received the Partner Award from the University of Central Florida Business Incubation Program for his more than fifteen years of service to the program. In 2014, Ed received the Judge J.C. “Jake” Stone Distinguished Service Award for his pro bono work over the prior 18 years as a volunteer guardian ad-litem for abused and neglected children. In 2013, he was awarded the Small Business Development Center Regional Volunteer of the Year Award.
Ed taught New Venture Finance at the University of Central Florida and served as Chairman of the East Orlando Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the SBA Small Business Resource Network.
He also enjoys outdoor activities including mountain biking, kayaking, hiking, and sailing.
