Matt Pearce represents individuals and corporations in government investigations and prosecutions, as well as in complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts. In recent years, Mr. Pearce has represented leading companies in industries such as banking, technology, medicine, and energy. Mr. Pearce also defends businesses and executives in criminal investigations by the United States Department of Justice, as well as in civil enforcement actions by agencies such as the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Department of Labor, and the Department of Health and Human Services.

 

A significant portion of Mr. Pearce’s practice involves representing employers in lawsuits involving claims of employment discrimination, retaliation, FLSA violations, claims related to restrictive covenant agreements, and other similar claims. He is also aware of the significant disruption caused to employers by litigation, and devotes a substantial amount of his time to helping employers remain compliant with the numerous laws, rules, and regulations related to their business, in order to avoid litigation and government enforcement actions.  Mr. Pearce counsels employers regarding employment law issues on a day-to-day basis, and also conducts trainings to help employers comply with the ever-changing rules and regulations related to the employment relationship.  

 

Prior to joining Stovash, Case & Tingley, P.A., Mr. Pearce practiced for more than a decade in Atlanta, Georgia, with one of the nation’s largest law firms. Mr. Pearce is active in the community and frequently volunteers to represent clients on a pro bono basis, including the victims of domestic violence, as well as children as a guardian ad litem.
